About Stevie Bagpipes
I'm Steve Christie, professionally known as Stevie Bagpipes — an award-winning Highland wedding piper originally from Edinburgh and now proudly based in Northumberland.
As a North of England Wedding Awards winner I perform across Northumberland, the North East, the Scottish Borders and beyond, bringing authentic Scottish bagpipe music to castle weddings, church ceremonies and historic venues throughout the region.
Experience & Scottish Tradition
I began playing the bagpipes at the age of eleven, developing my craft within the disciplined world of competitive Scottish piping. Those formative years instilled the precision, composure and professionalism that continue to shape every performance today.
My performances have included events at Bamburgh Castle and Langley Castle — settings where the sound of the pipes has echoed through centuries of tradition.
I have also performed at Bamburgh Castle for events held to mark HM The late Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, and celebrations to mark HM The King’s Coronation.
My performances have also included services held at the Duke of Northumberland’s family church in Alnwick, attended by His Grace the Duke of Northumberland.
A Personal Approach

When couples choose their wedding piper, they are placing trust in someone to help shape one of the most meaningful moments of their day.

For me, personality matters just as much as precision. My role is not only to play beautifully, but to bring warmth, calm confidence and a reassuring presence — ensuring every moment feels authentic, uplifting and truly memorable.

Whether performing at a grand castle celebration, a traditional church ceremony, or a more intimate registry office wedding, I approach every occasion with the same care, professionalism and genuine enthusiasm.
Kind words
“Stevie was incredible — not only a fantastic piper, but a fantastic personality who brought warmth and energy to our entire day. Our guests are still talking about him.”

At every wedding, my aim is to create a moment that lingers long after the pipes fall silent.
